Pull out your calendar for the past 365 days and write down every engagement, listing them all on a single sheet of paper. For each include (1) the length or date of the engagement, (2) client’s name, and (3) how much you earned. Then, look at the whole sheet and ask yourself what you want to do more of and what you want to do less of. Put little pluses (+) next to those that represent what you want to do more of.
You will be amazed at how much insight this simple exercise will generate. Not to mention the possibilities it will open up for improving your practice.
