What to Do on the Last Day of the Year

December 31, 2009

What can you do today that you can do no other? You can close out 2009 with a smile in your heart. Here are three ways to make that happen:

  1. Do something nice and unexpected for someone you care about: your partner, a client, a friend. Something small or something large – it doesn’t matter. Make someone’s day.
  2. Finish something you’ve been procrastinating about. Clean the rec room, fix the leaky faucet, read your friend’s essay, enter those bank statements in your register – pick something that you can done in short order, not a major project.
  3. Thank someone who has made a difference in your year. Call them up or go visit them. Be explicit. Say, “I just wanted you to know that I appreciate you and this is why…”

End 2009 with something special and meaningful. It’s your last chance and a wonderful way to bring the year to a close.
